Picturesque Slovakia photographed by Ladislav Struhár

The natural and cultural heritage of the historic Slovakia

The Harghita County Heritage Centre in partnership with the Szekler Museum of Ciuc, with the support of the Ministry of Human Resources (Hungary), launches the Art Caravan series in Miercurea Ciuc this year.

The aim of the Art Caravan programme is to present the everyday life of Hungarians living in Slovakia and their communities, picturesque landscapes and man-made environment to the inhabitants of Szeklerland, who live far from Slovakia, and to bring their world view and outlook on life closer through photographic art.

Ladislav Struhár was born in Bratislava in 1954, partly of Hungarian descent. As a photographer, he focuses mainly on landscape and architectural photography. An internationally acclaimed professional photographer, he is the author of several photographic publications, photo albums and calendars, and his permanent exhibitions of Slovak landscapes have been held in Slovak Cultural Centres, in Budapest, Sofia, Warsaw and Tashkent. His work has made him a role model for many contemporary photographers.
