dr. Karda-Markaly Aranka

I graduated from Babeș-Bolyai University, Faculty of History and Philosophy, Department of History (2012) and Department of International Relations and European Studies (2013) and Mastered in Research and Use of Cultural Heritage (2014). I started working at the Szekler Museum of Ciuc as a historian-museologist in autumn 2014, where since 2018 I have been in charge of the Archives and Old Books Collection. I defended my doctoral thesis in the summer of 2021, the topic of which was Ciuc Seat and the nobility of Ciuc Seat in the 16th and 17th centuries. My field of expertise is the history of Ciuc Seat in the early modern period as well as the history of Transylvania. I am an expert in Latin and Hungarian historical sources from the 16th, 17th and 18th centuries. In my work, besides collections management, I have published numerous articles, edited yearbooks and conference volumes. I organized a conference, participated in a training course in museography at the Hungarian Parliament Museum and was an active participant in the team that created the exhibition on the history of the city of Miercurea Ciuc.

I work as a conservator, museologist and exhibition organiser at the Szekler Museum of Ciuc. I am in charge of the fine arts collection, including the legacy of Imre Nagy din Jigodin-Ciuc with more than 6000 works of art, as well as the artist's birthplace and the gallery attached to it. My main field of interest is contemporary art, in which I have gained some experience in exhibition organisation, curating and writing reviews.

I graduated from the Faculty of Hungarian-Ethnography of the Babeș-Bolyai University in Cluj-Napoca in 1996. I taught Hungarian and English in various schools in the countryside and in Miercurea Ciuc, and then I was a librarian for a short time.

Lázár Levente

In 2008 I graduated in restoration and conservation at the Ion Adreescu University of Art in Cluj-Napoca. Since 2014 I am a conservator at the Szekler Museum of Ciuc. I mainly work on the conservation and restoration of ethnographic objects made of wood and mixed materials, but I also work on furniture restoration and archaeological excavations.

Mara Zsuzsanna

Between 1998 and 2003, I graduated from the George Enescu University of Fine Arts in Iași, Restoration Department, where I specialized in painting on canvas. In 2001, I won a scholarship and deepened my knowledge in the restoration of painting on canvas at the Restoration-Artist course of the Hungarian Academy of Fine Arts in Budapest. I have been working at the museum since 2005, and my tasks include supporting activities in exhibition management, museum pedagogy, yearbook editing and exhibition organisation. Restoration is an eternal love, a challenging and colourful mission, which I live with complete humility. I love my work, it fills me up, so I happily publish my results and present them at national and international conferences.

I graduated from the Institute of Archaeology of ELTE in Budapest (2001), and received my PhD from the same institute (2015). My thesis was on the medieval settlement history of the Ciuc Basin, which was awarded the Kubinyi Prize in 2016.
My main research topics are: migration period and medieval archaeology of the Ciuc Basin, settlement history, medieval ecclesiastical architecture, historical place-nomenology, dendrochronology, medieval environment, historical ironwork, historical wooden structures.I believe it is important that our research is not only accessible to specialist colleagues, but also to the wider public. I regularly give presentations and publish papers at national and international conferences (including schools and events), in professional journals and conference proceedings. My publications number around seventy. I am an invited lecturer at the Babeş-Bolyai University (Cluj-Napoca), the 1st of December University (Alba-Iulia) and the Lucian Blaga University (Sibiu), teaching courses in historical structures, monument conservation and restoration. My monograph on the medieval archaeology and history of Ciuc was published in 2019 by Martin Opitz Publishing House, Budapest.
My wife and I founded and run the only dendrochronological laboratory in Romania that researches and dates historical wooden structures and wooden equipment. In the course of our work, we have dated nearly 300 Transylvanian monuments, covering all regions, denominations and monument types in Transylvania.

I graduated the Faculty of History and Philosophy at the Babeș-Bolyai University in Cluj-Napoca in 1998 with a degree in History, specialising in Archaeology. My research interests are: the medieval settlement history of Szeklerland and especially Ciuc, material culture, manor houses. I regularly present at national and international conferences and publish papers. I have conducted several archaeological excavations on the subject.

dr. Kelemen Imola

My specialty is archaeological animal bones, mainly prehistoric ones. But the truth is that the bones, the animals themselves, are just tools to find out more about the Man, the communities and everyday life. About what species were hunted/kept, what they were used for, what strategies were used to slaughter them, what techniques were used to process them, and perhaps how they were prepared and consumed. Sometimes, during an archaeozoological investigation, I can even smell the scents of a settlement from 4000 years ago! Of course, as they say, this is 'just' the profession. The workplace is different. And it is. In the workplace, in addition to the profession, there is book editing, many forms of digitalisation/inventory, deposit organisation, exhibitions that hardly relate to the profession, even website editing, and in fact many other things that no one else gets done. I have an analytical brain, love systems and have a particular fascination for spreadsheets. Perhaps all this will do good not only for me but others who work with me, too.

I finished my studies in 2007 at Babeș-Bolyai University, majoring in Archaeology, and then in the same institution I graduated with a Master in Research and Use of Cultural Heritage. Since 2008, I have been archaeologist-collection director of the Szekler Museum of Ciuc. I have worked in Germany in my profession and speak German well. Archaeology taught me to work in a team, and during excavations abroad I realized that I primarily enjoy working as an archaeological technician. I am happy to cooperate with interns, I like to meet new challenges, to challenge myself in new areas such as ceramic restoration, museum education and anything else that requires creative thinking. I have two young sons, with whom we regularly visit local exhibitions, which helps me realise how the museum and its wonderful world can be brought closer to people's hearts.

Magyari Éva

In 1988-89 I worked on the museum's archaeological excavations as a "day labourer" and only for a fixed period of time. Although it was a completely unknown field for me, I fell in love with the Mikó Castle, the museum and the work itself in the museum. In May 1990, I was hired permanently being responsible for the archaeological and historical collections. At the same time, due to reorganisation and staff cuts at that time, I also took on an administrative-organisational role, which I still fulfill today. In retrospect, I feel pride and satisfaction that I was a member of the team that contributed to the Szekler Museum of Ciuc's classification as a European-level institution.

Gegő Imre

I graduated in Economics in 2012 at Sapientia University, after which I completed my Master's degree in Communication and Public Relations at the same university. My qualifications include photographer, graphic designer and project manager. I completed various training programs abroad, so I studied online communication in Budapest, photography and videography in Vienna and digital marketing in Ljubljana. Before becoming a museographer in charge of public relations at the Szekler Museum of Ciuc, I worked as a journalist at a county newspaper, then I was marketing manager at a company in the metal industry, then I worked as a sales coordinator in advertising platforms and weekend photographer at one of the most important Hungarian media companies in Romania, and finally I was public relations manager for Harghita county at the largest Catholic NGO in Transylvania.

I obtained my law degree at the Lucian Blaga University of Sibiu, Faculty of Law Simion Barnutiu, then I continued my professional training in various fields, such as Romanian and English language, pedagogy at the "Babeș-Bolyai" University of Cluj Napoca. I am an expert in adult education, project management, and I am a graduate of the postgraduate program in Leadership at the Vienna University of Economics, Austria. I have challenged myself in many different fields and functions, but I think the most important aspect I have always considered was the quality of interpersonal relationships. Although my main area of expertise is project management, throughout my career I have been a teacher, then a trainer in English and Romanian, as well as an organiser, host, speaker and simultaneous interpreter for various conferences. My aspiration is to offer visitors of the museum a unique experience, and I believe that the diversity of my career and studies can contribute beneficially to this goal.

Egyetemi végzettségemet tekintve néprajz mesterszakos bölcsész vagyok, a múzeumban viszont jelenleg múzeumpedagógusként tevékenykedem. A kutatói attitűd mellett mindig is fontos szerepe volt az életemben a tanulásnak és a játéknak, így egy izgalmas kihívás számomra, hogy kipróbálhatom magam a Csíki Székely Múzeumban múzeumpedagógusként. A munkámban azt szeretem a leginkább, hogy mindig új kihívások elé állít, és folyamatosan motivál, hogy valami újat, egyedit találjak ki, ami közelebb hozza a gyerekekhez, látogatókhoz egy-egy állandó vagy időszakos kiállításunk témáját. Nagyon tág az érdeklődési köröm, mindig sok téma foglalkoztatott, szerettem rövidebb, hosszabb ideig elmélyülni egy-egy terület felkutatásában, most pedig nem csak felkutathatom, hanem át is adhatom, amit érdekesnek találok. Ez a feladat nem mindig könnyű, de fontosnak érzem a munkám, és ez motivál arra, hogy fejlesszem magam és egyre jobb legyek, ez pedig egy kiváló hajtóerő.
