For May's artifact of the month, we have chosen a label of a mineral water bottle from 1987, which also holds some interesting facts about the process of its arrival in the museum.

Miklóssy Vári Vilmos, who worked at the museum in the 1980s, was also involved in the expansion of the collection of mineral water bottle labels. He periodically sent out a letter of request to the various mineral water bottling factories in Romania, asking them for a few copies of their currently used labels. Judging from the replies, a very wide variety of labels were received, slowly building up not only the collection itself, but also a considerable set of “doubles”, which was and still is the basis for exchanges with other collectors.

The label now on display is that of a 750 ml bottle of BORSEC mineral water produced for export to Israel, stating that it is kosher and safe for consumption by Jews, bottled on 20 July 1987, and the importer's headquarters is 79 Rotschild Street, Tel Aviv.
