In the ethnographic exhibition area, we will explore with the children how wooden objects were the everyday tools of our ancestors in the past. What knowledge did a peasant man walking in the woods and on the frontier need to choose the right wood to make his objects? What crafts were developed for working wood? What replaced wooden tools, and what tools have survived and can be found in today's 21st century households? The session will show how similar an object made in the past and its descendants in museums are to one another, and how the differences between them show how the way of life of the people who used the tool has changed, and with it the object itself.
