The project entitled Preservation and Restoration of Hungarian Cultural Heritage Beyond our Borders was funded by the Ministry of National Cultural Heritage and implemented by the László Teleki Foundation. The project involved the conservation and restoration of more than 300 buildings and the complete renovation of nearly 30 monuments.
The panels in the exhibition show just a few of the 350 monuments that have been restored in recent years. The exhibition also includes a number of curiosities. A photographic reproduction of the original size shows some of the painted wooden frames and parapets of the Daia Reformed Church, which is currently being restored, and the beautifully painted Baroque pews of the Reformed Church of Visk in Transcarpathia. The restored steeple of the Reformed Church in Huszt has a vase tower and a replica of the carved stone reliefs that adorn the walls of St Michael's Cathedral in Alba-Iulia.
