Elite Corps 2.0

The richest cemeteries of the Carpathian Basin

92 people from 1100 years before

We have brought the most beautiful archaeological finds of the Hungarian occupation to Szeklerland, to Miercurea Ciuc. Archaeologists have unearthed the graves of 92 people in two cemeteries between in the Bodrog-köz. These people were witnesses of great times and shapers of great history. They took part in the conquest of the new Hungarian homeland. It was thanks to them and to their peers that the Kingdom of Hungary later became one of the most powerful countries in Europe. It is thanks to them and their comrades that there is still a Hungarian-speaking people in Central Europe today. From the excavations, archaeologists have learned what they looked like, what they wore and how they made their weapons. DNA tests have also revealed the colour of their eyes and hair.

Archaeologists are not the only ones who have the right to think about the past.

Until now, only privileged specialists have been able to examine these artefacts. Elite Corps 2.0 is only an exhibition in appearance. In reality, it is a secret archaeological research laboratory disguised as an exhibition, preparing you to go back in time. Visitors are not presented with ready-made facts and statements to be recited in a school report, but with methods, and the most beautiful archaeological finds from the Hungarian occupation. Here you too can be an archaeologist!
