In the name of the art association, founded in 2009, the term cafard (madness, rampage, irritability, desire for action, melancholy), borrowed from Jenő Rejtő's The Yellow Garnizon, has been shaped into Caffart, in a frenetic, associative way. The presentations of this extremely heterogeneous and sometimes seemingly contradictory group behind the speaking name provide an opportunity to look at exciting trends and crossroads in contemporary art.
Masters and disciples, in their own time, in their own space, in their own silence, seeking their own paths, their own destinies. They do not follow blindly, they do not study. They do what all artists must do in this intrusive, dilettantish world: they converse with trees, animals, pebbles, winds, seas and dreams.
