On the occasion of the jubilee Year of Mary, a travelling exhibition of fine art entitled Blessed Virgin Mary will open on Tuesday 28 July at 18:00 at the Szekler Museum of Ciuc. The 55 outstanding Hungarian artists from the Carpathian Basin and the diaspora will shed light on the relationship between the Blessed Virgin Mary and the Hungarian people from different angles.
The travelling exhibition series, which started in Budapest, aims to give a contemporary artistic interpretation of this complex and multi-layered image of the Blessed Virgin Mary.
János Áder, President of the Republic of Hungary, is the patron of the travelling exhibition of the Carpatho-Home Gallery, and its patrons are József Tamás, Roman Catholic Bishop of Hungary and Jenő Szász, President of the National Strategic Research Institute. Attila Antal, Deputy Mayor of Miercurea Ciuc, will welcome the guests at the opening ceremony, and Jenő Szász, President of the National Strategic Research Institute, will give a toast. The exhibition will be opened by Enikő Hegedűs, art historian, with Erzsébet Györfi, folk singer.
