In June 2007, as part of the restoration program, we carried out some archaeological researches in the interior of the church. During the excavation we identified in the tabernacle of today the trail of two earlier tabernacles. The only remains of the early – Gothic tabernacle are some important parts of the foundation walls, to which it belongs the diagonal foundation wall on the Northern part of the tabernacle opened in 1999 by Daniela Marcu. It turns out that this tabernacle was built later on to an earlier nave.

The architectural elements from the age of the Árpáds and those from the 14th century are clear proofs of the fact that the early ecclesiastical organisation spread over the entire region of Ciuc. They are also the proof of the fact that the architectural history of the churches from Ciuc is much more eventful than we have previously thought.
