The Fine Arts Collection
The museum holds 7823 works from 207 artists. The major part of these works became property of the institution on account of the first collection actions, and as a result of donations from different inheritors and gifts from the exhibitors. The other part of the collection consists of works from individual or institutional exhibitions, and of works that were bought with the control of the ministry. We also own some works that were confiscated from the former owners by the police of the communist regime for the reason that they did not correspond to the art treasure law of the time.
